Description: One of three selected design proposals to be put on display to Reimagine the Van Cortlandt Park Enslaved African Burial Ground. The Pinkster Azalea Pavilion is a sculptural gathering space inspired by the layered petals of the Pinkster Azalea, creating a place for remembrance, ceremony, and cultural connection. Blending architecture, landscape, and symbolism, the pavilion honors the resilience of the African diaspora while fostering reflection and collective memory within Van Cortlandt Park.
